Let’s start with some basics before we get any deeper into StarCraft 2 Terran strategy.

Advantages of Terran Race
Terran race is extremely good at infantry and siege weaponry. These two types of units used in a proper manner can take down any army. You always have to be aware of your advantages and your weaknesses though, and since you are aware that infantry units are your strong side you can count on that fact and make some interesting rush opening tactics, such as Reaper Rush and Marine Rush.

Reaper Rush
The Reaper is a Terran jet pack infantry unit. Reaper is very fast, ranged unit that deals light damage and can cliff jump. Idea behind rushing with Reapers is disabling enemy supply lines; therefore, you want to get in there as fast as possible, infiltrate enemy mineral supply lines, and cripple them hard!

Reaper can take down workers in about three rapid shots. The fastest way of getting Reapers out is building Barracks and Refinery before you make first supply depot and attach a tech lab to it. On mid or low levels you want to get 2-3 Reapers before you send them out but on higher levels you first want to send Reaper out to attack as soon as possible as later on your enemy will be ready for you as they might be expecting you to rush out with Reapers.

Marine Rush
This is very simple tactic but not very frequently used, as simple things are sometimes hard to see. You want to construct Barracks and an Orbital Command and add about 3 more Barracks as soon as you can.

If you are a risk taker you can try and do this before you construct your second supply depot. At this point you can start mass production of Marines. They are very deadly in larger groups and with their long range and concentrated DPS they can easily take down some good targets. You will be able to hassle and cripple your enemy and slowly ware them down.

As you push harder and harder into their base with constant reinforcements you will reach a breaking point of the enemy lines allowing yourself to deal a crushing blow to enemy economy, which in the end will lead to your victory.
